Particularly in animation, where designs can grow stale as characters are allowed to remain in ageless stasis for years upon years, a slight tweaking now and then can help to keep designs visually striking and keep older properties fresh. But then… there are these. These are times when characters, some of them loved by millions of fans, were subjected to nonsensical changes for reasons nobody could fathom. They more often than not resulted in the rebooting, or outright cancellation of the property- all because those making the creative decisions didn’t know when to leave well enough alone.
