The WEIG-Karton plant in Mayen, one of Europe’s biggest factories for recycled cardboard, folded boxes, plasterboard and testliner, realizes a production output of 600,000 tons per year. The big variety of roll formats, high external storage costs and forklift handling with an increased degree of damage on one hand and big organisational and personnel expenses on the other hand made the WEIG management all the more determined to redesigning the cardboard roll logistics. HÖRMANN Logistik designed and realized a customized logistic concept for WEIG’s specific requirements.
