This time lapse video shows progress on the construction of the new Number One Riverside office development and the Rochdale Transport Interchange from April 2011 to date. These 2 schemes are part of the £250m regeneration of Rochdale town centre, bringing new office, leisure, shopping and transport developments alongside restoration of our heritage. When complete in autumn 2013, the Interchange includes a new bus station and taxi facilities alongside the new Metrolink terminus also under construction and due to open in 2014. A hydro-electric power plant has been built to provide power to the new Interchange. The images are taken from the webcam on the old Municipal Offices (known locally as the Black Box) that will be demolished along with the old bus station and multi storey car park.
