Thanks to everyone who liked and subscribed!💕 1986 is without a doubt the worst year in rally history in terms of fatalities, and the crashes of that time left an indelible mark on history. While running in 2nd position of the 1986 ADAC Hessen Rallye, Marc Surer lost control of his Ford RS200 in a fast right hander. The car skidded of the road and crashed sideways into two trees, the car immediately exploded into flames. Marc Surer suffered multiple fractures and burns but he survived because he was thrown out of a car. His navigator Michel Wyder burn out to death inside a car. Surer remained comatose for three weeks. 1986 was turning into a dark year for the rallying community, with the deaths of Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto.
