In today's video I'll be showing you how to make and can spaghetti sauce from canned tomato paste and canned diced tomatoes. Here is my recipe... Homemade Spaghetti Sauce for Canning 5 12oz cans tomato paste 2 28oz cans diced tomatoes 3 to 4 medium to large size onions, chopped 6 to 7 large cloves garlic, chopped Olive oil (or oil of your choice), enough to saute the onions and garlic 15 cups water Spices: These are basic amounts to add. You can adjust and add more of any of them to suit your own tastes. I did end up adding a little more salt and a little more sugar. So add what works for you! 2T salt 2T sugar ½ cup Italian Seasonings 1T granulated garlic (garlic powder would work too) 1T onion powder Follow directions in the video for making the sauce and canning it This recipe will fill 7 quart jars with a little leftover. This recipe needs to be canned in a pressure canner not a boiling water bath. Can quart jars for 25 minutes and pints for 20 minutes at the pressure recommended for your elevation.
