The Camellia House Past and Future |

To celebrate the re-opening of our wonderful Camellia House in March 2024, we're re-releasing some of our back catalogue of videos that help to give context to this amazing place. In this video, filmed in 2022, we take a look at the history of the Camellia House and we begin to outline our plans to secure its future. We've come a long way since then, and we can't wait to welcome our first visitors into this newly regenerated place. It's the first time that the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust has taken a structure on the site and given it a completely new use. We're incredibly proud of what our amazing contractor teams, staff and volunteers have accomplished. This video contains reference to Ralph Tunnicliffe as the designer of the original Camellia House tea room. To date, Wentworth Woodhouse’s research team has not found evidence to corroborate this in the archival record.
