This video is about 100+ Most Valuable and some Rare Unique Postage Stamps Collection from Japan. First postage stamp was issued by Japanese Empire in April 1871. Prince Kitashirakawa Yoshihisa and Prince Arisugawa Taruhito were the first two royal persons to be depicted on the stamps. This was in the honor of their role in the First Sino-Japanese War that ended one year earlier. The first commemorative stamps were issued in 1894, and these marked the 25th anniversary of the wedding of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Later from 1989-2007, prefecture stamps were issued.
