2 Species of Wild Mint That YOU can Forage!

There are many species of wild mint and today we talk about 2 species that you can forage. Like most wild mints their flavor is distinct and these plants also make great medicine. Wild edible Bee Balm or Monarda fistulosa is beneficial to pollinators, like bees as its name suggests. Growing in open fields and on the edges of woods it's very easily distinguished by its unique flowers and a square stem. The second species of wild mint that you can forage is called Slenderleaf Mountain Mint. This mint is unique in that its flavor is like three different mints combined. Tasting like Wintergreen, Peppermint, and Spearmint it's great for desserts and flavoring extracts. This wild mint is also medicinal as well as edible and is a great plant for beginners to learn and forage in the wild.
