Hi everyone!! In this video we will understand what is State of Health (SOH) of battery. Battery’s State of Health is one of the important parameters determined by Battery Management System (BMS). State of Health of battery is the ratio of present condition of battery to the ideal conditions when battery is fresh/new. State of Health is expressed in percentage. State of Health is used in a particular application: 1.To estimate the battery’s useful lifetime 2.To determine when an old battery needs to be changed for a new battery SOH is evaluated based on the following parameters: 1. Increase in cell resistance/impedance 2. Decrease in Capacity 3. Self - discharge rate 4. Number of charge - discharge cycles 5.
