2011 Autosleeper Kensington touring caravan ultimate luxury!

A rare sight indeed, the Kensington is one of a range of caravans produced by the prestigious Auto-Sleeper design team, famous for its high spec hand-built luxury motorhomes. Auto - sleeper was committed to applying the same levels of engineering and luxury to their caravan range, badged AS Caravans, which contained 4 different models. The Kensington has a practical 4 berth layout, with a large lounge, well appointed kitchen, side dinette and big rear bathroom. The Kensington, like all AS Caravans, it is built on an Al-Ko galvanised chassis, resulting in a strong robust caravan. The exterior equipment also features the desirable Al-Ko ATC trailer control system, Al-Ko 3004 stabiliser, premium kockey wheel, Al-Ko Mammut motor mover, chrome plated A frame cover, 15" alloy wheels, Al-Ko secure wheel locks, under-floor fresh water tank and exterior mains and gas BBQ point. Inside the caravan, the interior immediately strikes as being very luxurious and high-end, with Amarti furniture throughout, combined with beautiful upholstery. At the front, there are polyplastic double-glazed flush-fit front windows with blinds and flycreens, allowing a panoramic view from the lounge. Inside, the lounge area comprises two large seats, in reflex foam, with storage and locker doors underneath, which can be used as two single beds or converted into a double bed using the pull out slats. There is a handy chest of drawers for storage which can be used as a coffee table, but for mealtimes, the folding table will comfortably seat 4. The upholstery is finished in attractive neutral patterned Belgian fabric, and there are matching curtains and 'mocha' removable carpets. The furniture, including the spacious overhead lockers,are finished in 'Amarti' veneer which gives the interior the appearance of warmth and all table tops and worktops are finished in decorative laminate. The lockers have positive latches and soft-close mechanism. There is a branded cd/radio with I-pod/MP3 connectivity. Set into the ceiling is a large Heki 2 rooflight with a pleated blind and flycreen, allowing light and ventilation into the lounge. Moving back through the Kensington, the kitchen is exceptionally well appointed and features a stainless steel 3 burner hob with high-speed multifunction burner and electric hotplate, a Dometic circulating extractor fan with built in downlighter, a domestic-style oven/grill and a built-in microwave to ensure that everything from a simple breakfast to a full evening meal can be catered for. The space-saving Argent stainless steel sink, with chrome finish mixer tap, comes with a chopping board and removeable drainer which are stored underneath a 'Chinchilla glass' sink cover. There is ample worktop space for food preparation, including an extra slide-out section, and lots of storage for crockery and kitchen essentials. A large dual-fuel 105 litre Dometic fridge is fitted. There is a roof-light in the ceiling, providing ventilation for the kitchen. Opposite the kitchen there is a side dinette, with folding table and seating for two, upholstered in the same attractive fabric. The dinette provides addition seating and living space but can be converted into a single bed or 2 bunk beds, by using the lift-out top bunk system. This area can then be separated from the rest of the caravan by using the privacy curtain. At the rear of the caravan, accessed through a domestic style door, the washroom is spacious and well equipped with a separate fully-lined double shower unit with chrome tap and built in extractor fan. There is a wardrobe and a large number of lockers, finished in Amarti veneer, with a swivelling Thetford c250 toilet with electric flush, and a gloss white sink, with chrome tap set into an attractive vanity unit. The washroom also includes a 230v hairdryer and built in shaver socket! Heating is provided by the thermostatically controlled dual fuel space heater with underfloor mounting and rapid blown air heating system. Hot water is supplied by the thermostatically controlled large capacity 13 ltr hot water tank. A powerful dual pump system ensures that hot and cold water is available on demand. Ambient lighting is provided by 12v reading lights, mains 230v wall lights and 12v ceiling and locker lights. The RCD/MCD protected electrical system has an easy to use control panel including water level indicator, battery status and individual appliance switches. There is even a flat screen TV/DVD which rises smoothly from a neat storage locker, at the push of a button, in full view of the lounge!
