Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Wednesday that 2,000 Subhadra applications have been rejected. She explained that the rejections were likely due to errors in bank account details. As of last night, 97,000 applications were still pending. However, by today, all except 2,000 have been processed and cleared. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman officially launched the NPS Vatsalya scheme today, following its announcement in the Union Budget 2024-25. As part of the launch, she introduced an online platform for subscribing to the scheme, unveiled a detailed brochure, and distributed Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) cards to minors who are new subscribers. The event was also marked by simultaneous celebrations at around 75 locations nationwide, where local authorities distributed PRAN memberships to minor subscribers, connecting with the main launch via video conferencing.
