Welcome to Perky's Analog Gear Demos. Please subscribe! One of the best octave pedals ever made! This is one of the later MIT models, dating to April 1998. Unlike its successor - the OC-3 - the OC-2 is entirely analog in its octave generation - resulting in the famously jumpy tracking on held notes (as demonstrated - though running a compressor before the OC-2 can greatly reduce this sound if you want to) Beware - this pedal kicks out some seriously low frequencies, so watch out for your tubes, especially in combo amps!! The powerful waveforms give them hell and shake them to pieces - you can hear the power tubes in my Hughes & Kettner Puretone combo getting bashed about by the energy. Having used both the OC-2 and OC-3, this is hands down the better sounding pedal. It can't handle polyphonics (chords) and doesn't have a built in overdrive (which the OC-3 really doesn't need) but in terms of the overall sound, the OC-2 is worlds apart. It sounds fantastic!
