'A golden boat with silver oars' SECRET COVE Circular walk Carne Beach to Nare Head, Cornwall

In our video today we visit the hidden gem of Carne Beach on the Roseland Peninsula, near Veryan. This beach is a shallow, spectacular beach with a gentle curl on the waves, that break so rhythmically. From the beach we head up hill to an Iron Age castle, Veryan Castle and on to Carne Beacon, an ancient burial site of Cornish Kings. After joining the South West Coast Path towards Nare Head, we come across a ruined cottage which was built by a fisherman called Mallett. We share a wonderful story of fate and drink in the fabulous view. The standard description bit… We are Sarah and Andrew and we film our walks around Cornwall and publish on YouTube, usually weekly. Sometimes we stay in accommodation in Cornwall and upload our vlog. Sarah is fascinated by sea glass and likes to collect it so there may be the occasional sea glass video too. The channel is a hobby and we both have normal day jobs! We love your comments and read all of them. We also answer as many as possible. Unfortunately, we cannot answer comments received more than a week after publication. Frequently asked questions: What are your dogs called? Sorry but we do not release the names of our dogs but perhaps you could make up a name for them! What camera do we use? Since December 2018 we have used: Canon Powershot G7x MkII How do I find the books you use? Most are still in print although some we pick up in charity shops and may be available on Amazon secondhand. Please refer to the video for the book titles. Every video shows the book three times. Sorry but we can’t put a link in every description. Best time of year to visit Cornwall? We love May, June for flora and fauna, July and September for spectacular scenery.
