When is a delay more than just a delay? The Alexander Rewind is a formidable addition to the "some format big box killer" world of midi capable, stereo delays. But what makes it stand out in my mind is the ways in which it's not a delay. Many of the engines here, in my opinion, are almost better suited to your dry guitar than they are to a delay line. The Rewind's wide, stereo, modulated bitcrushing can play against gritty guitars in very cool ways. Lofi crunch can take your guitar tone back to a bygone era of broken radios. To be fair, the delays in here are damn good too. You've got a great tape delay and some wonderfully wide dual delays to work with as well. But the Alexander team never shows up expecting you to just use the normal sounds. So lets dig into the weird, the useful, and the both.
