#2Esdras is an apocalyptic book that is found in many English versions of the Bible. Its authorship is ascribed to Ezra, a scribe and priest of the 5th century BCE. Under the ministration of the archangel Uriel, Ezra gets to ask the Creator many existential questions (in Job-like fashion), is given prophetic insight regarding world powers to come, sees visions of the Son of God and his Kingdom and learns about several eschatologically pertinent events that will manifest in the latter days. If you are someone that believes we are within the timeframe that the Bible refers to as "the end of the age/days," then this book of prophecy/eschatology may be something for you to study, research and prayerfully consider. There are many (conflicting) scholarly opinions regarding the authenticity, historicity and canonicity of 2 Esdras.
