ULTIMATE Nissan X-trail off-road compilation! Most capable small SUV? The mighty X-trail is one of the most under rated soft roaders. It's one of the most practical all around small SUV hence it is popular with backpackers and budget overlanders. Its good 4wd system takes it further despite not having low range gearing. The auto transmission (not CVT) of this model enhances its capability as it acts as a torque multiplier. It gives you the ability to maintain low revs without burning the clutch. It helps maintain slower speeds without stalling the engine despite not having low range gearing. Despite it's off-road abilities, it is still more of a car than a full size SUV. This makes it a very practical vehicle for all around use. Basically an in between of a car and a full size 4wd.
