Tannins are natural coloring in wood and wood stain that will bleed through any water-based/latex paint that you apply. No matter how many coats you keep putting on, the paint will not cover UNLESS you first seal it in with an oil-based primer. Although oil-based primers are very nasty/fume-y, this step is crucial to have a quality final product. We absolutely LOVE how this project turned out and ‪@BEYONDPAINT‬ looks absolutely beautiful!
