"Novelette in Fourths", a piano prelude by George Gershwin from 1919. A re-record of an older video with a fresh interpretation/tempo and on my new digital piano! I actually recorded this last year and never got around to posting it (hence the mostly empty room), but here it is now 😄 This a piece by George Gershwin, possibly intended to be 1 of 24 in a collection of preludes that was unfortunately never completed. It was composed around 1919, and is somewhat ragtime-like in nature, though falls more into the "Cakewalk" category. I learned the standard "Three Piano Preludes" when I was a teenager and only just discovered this one a couple years ago and found it delightful.
