Recording of Jasper ‘The Vinyl Junkie’ on LWR in 1987. It was around this time that I was really starting to appreciate rare groove and funk from the late 60’s and 70’s and I used to love this show. I cannot believe I did not record more of it. He played quite a variety of stuff. There’s an interesting reference to AIDS early on in this recording which really was a sign of the times. I’m pretty sure the Public Enemy track was not part of Jasper’s show but I’ve kept it in because I have no clue which DJ it was.
