#silverstacking #coincollecting #rarecoins Traveling to Europe for vacation turns into a business opportunity! Buying coins overseas can be very lucrative if you know what to look for. In this video I explain what my plans are for gold and silver coins I purchased overseas. There are a few things that can be difficult about buying/bringing back rare coins from overseas. One is customs, anything over $10k needs to be reported and taxes need to be paid, this was not mentioned in the video. Second knowing what to buy and avoiding fakes/overpaying. Obviously you would not want to buy any fake coins, and with certain gold and silver coins it could be difficult to judge their authenticity on the fly, especially coins you are unfamiliar with. Then there is the money conversion or exchange rate, this needs to be taken into account as well, a mistake I made in the Czech Republic. Another important factor that was not mentioned in this video was payment methods. In Spain I was able to pay with a Credit Card without penalty or fees. This was a huge advantage for several reasons, one the points or cash back earned on the large purchases added room for profits. Second not having to withdraw cash and avoiding all the fees associated with withdrawing cash. And lastly it gave me massive buying power at no extra cost, when you take money out overseas you are limited to how much you can take out at a time. This was one of the challenges I faced in the Czech Republic and because of that I wasn't able to spend nearly as much plus got beat up by fees and conversions. Just make a note, make sure to use a travel card(s) that does not have a foreign transaction fee, this is very important! Also always select whatever currency the country uses when using a credit card it always works out a bit better. Buying gold and silver coins overseas is a fun way to discover new and exciting coins but always be smart and do as much research as possible before making a major purchase, remember you can always come back to the coin shop another day, if something doesn't feel 100% right take a day and research before making a decision especially on big gold and silver coin purchases.
