This study presents the design and development of an instructional module in e-learning that utilizes the Minecraft educational game to teach the concept of Al-Kinayah in Al-Hadith As-Syarif. The module follows the Design and Development (DDR) model, encompassing needs analysis, content development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods. The needs analysis phase involves identifying the learning objectives, target audience, and technological requirements for implementing the module. It also includes an examination of the challenges faced by students in understanding Al-Kinayah and the potential benefits of using Minecraft as an instructional tool. Based on the needs analysis, the content development phase focuses on selecting authentic 30 examples of Al-Kinayah from book al-Kinayah fi al-Hadis an-Nabawi as-Syarif by Dr. Ammar Ismail Ahmad. The module provides explanations of Al-Kinayah concepts, interactive activities, and assessments to gauge students' understanding. In the instructional strategies phase, the module incorporates the unique features of Minecraft to engage students and enhance their learning experience. To evaluate the effectiveness of the module, the assessment methods phase employs a pre-test/post-test design. The assessment measures students' knowledge acquisition, comprehension, and application. Additionally, experts' sample feedback and observations are collected to gather insights into the usability and engagement of the module. The results of this study contribute to the field of e-learning by demonstrating the effectiveness of the DDR model in designing instructional modules that integrate Minecraft educational games as a tool for learning complex linguistic concepts. The module provides a comprehensive framework for educators interested in incorporating e-learning and gamification elements into Islamic studies and language learning.
