I have found a good way to make bridling easier on these type of horses is to get them nice and relaxed behind the pole and get them to give their head until they are licking and chewing, then you get to the point where you can put your hand and arm between their ears, and then you can much more easily put on the bridle. it does take practice and the more you mess around and smack a horse in the face while you're trying to do this it can negatively impact the horses reaction to putting on the bridal the next time. so you have to think about going up over one eye folding down the ear, and then going for the other side. be quick, and cause as least amount of harm as possible. but the first step would be getting the horse to relax their head before you even begin the process.
