Kitchenaid 5 Speed Ultra Power Hand Mixer Review

Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Kitchenaid 5 Speed Hand Mixer. LINK TO Kitchenaid 5 Speed Hand Mixer: http://amzn.to/1yqV5ac It’s light enough to hold while you’re mixing. The handles are well designed and the grip is comfortable. There are five speeds. There’s a beater eject button so it’s easy to remove the beaters once you’re done mixing. There are two beaters that come with the unit. One has a collar and one doesn’t. The one with the collar goes into the bigger opening on the right side. Push it in until you hear a click. Insert the one without the collar into the other opening. Before you plug in the unit, make sure the speed is set to off. Always start mixing at the lowest speed of 1 and go up from there. Slide the speed control forward or backward to adjust the speed. The speeds are easy to adjust and you hear a click when the speed is changed. Speed 1 is for starting the mixer as well as stirring in chunky ingredients like chocolate chips. Speed 2 is for stirring batter and cookie dough. Speed 3 is for heavy cream cheese mixtures and vegetables like squash. Speed 4 is for creaming butter and sugar and making frosting. Speed 5 is for whipping cream. This hand mixer is not designed to mix heavy dough but you can buy dough hooks to attach to this mixer and make dough. Other attachments you can buy separately are a liquid blender rod for smoothies and milkshakes and a Pro Whisk for whipped cream. Slow means slow not like in some inexpensive mixers with just one speed. The slow and high speeds are accurate. I can put it down and the beaters don’t touch any surface. Clean up is easy, just wash the beaters in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. The mixer is not loud even at the highest speed. It’s great for those who bake mostly cookies and not heavy duty things like bread dough. Even if you have a good stand mixer, this is handy for the smaller jobs like whipping cream because you don’t always want to pull out the heavy stand mixer for a small job.
