Testing different materials and brands with food dye, turmeric, curry powder and beat root. I think the food dye overpowered everything else in this test however a good watch and education on what is being marketed as highly stain resistant is really as bad as marble. I respect granite in the test results, however the downside of granite is that they are mainly darker colours. Quartzite is also ok, however there’s a lot of natural cracks within quartzite and that’s what tends to stain most, inside the cracks. Both the materials above would need constant sealers to keep them to this standard which is high maintenance. Engineered stone is the worst performer IMO. If you love that look of marble, you are better off with Marble, at least the design is real. Marble IMO stained less then engineered stone, however this is currently factory sealed and would also need regular sealing and maintenance. Porcelain = WOW.
