Tutorial: Improving the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme, DuraXE Epic, and DuraXA Equip

Watch this video for a step by step guide on unlocking the full potential of your Kyocera DuraXV Extreme E4810, DuraXV Extreme+ E4811, DuraXE Epic E4830, or DuraXA Equip E4831 flip phone. These phones run Android, and therefore can run many apps. You will need to use ADB commands from a Windows computer to enable some of these features. First, you will learn how to install a mouse pointer, since these phones do not have a touchscreen. Next is learning how to change the functions of many keys using Button Mapper. Installing the Aurora Store allows you to easily download Google Play apps directly onto the phone. The Traditional T9 app massively improves the typing experience on the newer models, since only the DuraXV Extreme comes with XT9. TT9 also allows you to download many different languages. As explained in the video, the last line is for Button Mapper, and will cause problems if used on the DuraXV Extreme E4810. If you accidentally entered that last command on the E4810 and have lost text entry abilities, enter it again but replace “grant” with “revoke” to undo it.
