BenQ HT2050 DLP Projector Repair | Locked Fan Causes Shutdown

A viewer sent this in when it started shutting down after getting too hot. An old lamp assembly had ruptured leaving a chunk of glass in the blower fan causing it to lock up. After removing the glass, the projector ran great. If you ever have a lamp explode or lose any pieces of glass in your projector, be sure to listen for bits that might have landed in the blower fan. This is a common issue among all DLP projectors and LCD projectors that use directly connected blower fans for cooling. *Note, About the fan frequency, I think the 97hz on the scope = 2 pulses per revolution on that fan. 2900rpm(target), 48.3rps(revs per second) x 2= 97hz(cycles per second). If I am wrong here, please correct me and help me understand where I was wrong. Thanks for watching and I hope you all are having a great year so far.
