Waving not Drowning - How Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd fought back after the Boxing Day Floods

On 29 December 2015, tired of the mainstream media narrative that the Army were coming to save the Calder Valley from looters in the wake of the Boxing Day Floods, a team of citizen videographers were mobilised, armed with phones, compact cameras, DSLRs and the same six questions, to go and get the real story about how the communities of Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd not only survived, but thrived, without the interference or significant engagement of "the authorities". This not a film about a weather event. It is the story of community self-empowerment and organisation and how natural and intuitive this is. People are amazing. Talk to your neighbours.
