Nella ormai lunga storia del punk rock ci sono stati momenti in cui la popolarità del genere ha raggiunge vette inimmaginabili, portando alcune tra le più importanti band della scena ad infrangere la bolla dell’underground per affacciarsi al luccicante mondo del mainstream. Pensiamo ad esempio al periodo post grunge, intorno alla metà degli anni 90 oppure agli anni a cavallo del nuovo millennio con l’esplosione del poppunk. Ebbene, c’è una band che pur non essendo stata la protagonista assoluta di questi momenti di grande risalto, è sicuramente stata la porta d’ingresso per molti ragazzini verso il mondo del punk rock.
