Such was the case with the 1980s heavyweight division. The 1970s had produced the greatest decade ever for the division, headlined by the rock/paper/scissors of their era: Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman. These 3 legends were joined by a noticeable roster, the likes of Ken Norton, Larry Holmes, Ron Lyle, Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, and more. If anything, it was silly to attempt to live up to them...but the lower weight classes of the 1980s (the Fab 5) did a darn good job. The heavyweights, meanwhile, were smack-dab in the middle of The Lost Generation.
