Exclusive: Jon Kaase's New P51-D Cylinder Head, Sky Is The Limit , 450+ CFM @ .800 Out Of The Box

This is an interview with Charlie Evans, a name synonymous with big block Fords. Charlie knows how to make Ford Power. Charlie Evans and Jon Kaase gives DragBoss Garage the exclusive on the new Kaase P-51D big Block Ford Cylinder head. I have been keeping this under wraps until now. The P51D is the cross between the SR-71, and the P51cylinder heads. The unique issue is that the ports are taller than P-51, and less than the SR-71. That means the P-51D does not need the China wall spacers, like the SR-71. These heads have deepened bowls, with a 2.300 intake flow over 450cf, on the intake at .800 lift, the exhaust flow with 1.76 valve is over 240cfm, at .800 lift, on the Flow sheet, but Charlie mentions they flow 260cfm. That is out of the box flow testing. These heads have a huge power potential, and can bolt onto a Ford Big Block, with minimal fanfare. Charlies recommends for best power, a 2 inch installed height, and a cam with lift in the .800-825 lift. They have large and strengthened rocker arm area/pads. The intake ports are not lengthen by a half inch, like the SR-71 heads. Again, does not need the China wall spacer. So if you want an easier way to horse Power, these just may be the solution. The P-51Ds were named after the P51 Mustang, a WWII fighter. P-51D were powered by V12/ V 1650 Merlin/Rolls Royce power, they sound unbelievable at speed, and idle. They made over 1600 HP. The P51-D which was designed in 1943. It was an improvement over the P51, with better visibility, with newly designed canopy. Reworked wings, allowed the P-51D to have 6 .50 caliber Browning machine guns in the wings, the previous P51, only had 4. Pilots requested more fire power, so it was delivered, along with a new sighting system. Thanks to videos from Paddy Patrone, and Wings TV.
