Struggling with Summer Woodland Photography? - Try This

I've often overlooked woodland photography during the summer months. The thick growth of foliage makes compositions harder to piece together and prime conditions such as fog are few and far between. Having said that I've been itching to return to my local woodland as I find it a place of relaxation away from the hustle of every day life. There really is nothing better than the stillness of the forest early in the morning with the only sounds being that of the birds early morning calls and the shutter on my A7riii clicking away with the hope that I capture a few nice photos. So at the weekend I headed out with my good friend ‪@Stainphotography‬ to see if we could do just that. Struggling with the harsh summer sunlight I remembered a few videos I'd watched in recent times from ‪@SimonBoothPhotography‬ (if you don't already please do check his work out) where he focusses not only on the wider woodland images, but the smaller intimate details within the woodland, so decided to have a go myself. It's not easy by any means, it really does require you to slow down and be acutely aware of your surroundings as you could easily walk past the most exquisite detail and one false step could easily destroy a masterpiece. But for a first attempt at such photography I was really pleased with the results and it's something I want to include in my photography arsenal moving forward. I thoroughly enjoyed the morning and would highly recommend to you to give it a go.
