Bengali aloo posto is a classic side dish with potatoes flavoured with nigella seeds. This authentic dish is a staple and loved in a Bengali household. . . . Ingredients required: Potato: 2 to 3 (cut into small cubes) Dry red chillies: 2 Green chillies: 2 Kalo jeera/Nigella seeds: ¼ tsp Poppy seed paste: 4 tbsp Salt: as per taste Mustard oil: 1 tbsp Ghee: ½ tsp How to make aloo posto: 1. Heat oil in a kadhai, and add dry red chillies and kalo jeera (nigella seeds). 2. Add in the potatoes along with salt & keep frying them for 2-5 minutes. 3. Add water as required to cook the potatoes. Cover the lid & keep the flame in low heat. 4. Once the potatoes are well cooked, add in the poppy seed paste & mix it well. 5. Adjust the consistency of the curry as per your preference. 6. Simmer it in low flame for a few minutes. 7. Add ghee & a teaspoon of mustard oil. 8.
