Upper Body Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training Workout Demonstration

This is the final video in a three-part series where I am discussing blood flow restriction training (BFR training). In this video, an upper body BFR resistance training arm workout is demonstrated. Upper Body/Arm Workout: -General Warm-Up (5 min. of light cycling or jogging) -1 un-cuffed warm-up set of D.B. curls for biceps -Occlusion protocol for biceps: • Wrap band or cuff around upper arm, just below deltoid muscle with moderate pressure (7 out of 10 on subjective perceived pressure scale, or 70% of maximal tightness) • Load: 20-50% of 1 RM D.B. bicep curl • Sets: 4 • Reps: To muscular fatigue, or near muscular fatigue each set • Rest periods: 30-60 seconds (stay occluded during rest periods) -Remove bands/cuffs and rest for 1-2 minutes before performing the occlusion protocol for triceps -1 un-cuffed warm-up set of dumbbell “skullcrushers” for triceps -Occlusion protocol for triceps: • Wrap band-cuff around upper arm, just below deltoid muscle with moderate pressure (7 out of 10 on subjective perceived pressure scale, or 70% of maximal tightness) • Load: 20-50% of 1 RM dumbbell skullcrushers/triceps extensions • Sets: 4 • Reps: To muscular fatigue, or near muscular fatigue each set • Rest periods: 30-60 seconds (stay occluded during rest periods) If you have specific questions about exercise science, kinesiology, sports performance enhancement, bodybuilding, nutrition, supplementation, training, exercise program design, exercise technique, rehabilitation, injury prevention, etc., leave a comment below and I will try my best to produce a video over the topic in the future! #bfrtraining #hypertrophy #resistancetraining #muscle Follow Dr. Taylor on Instagram:   / dr.jordan_taylor   Visit the University of Kansas Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences Website: https://hses.ku.edu/ Visit the University of Kansas Edwards Campus Exercise Science Website: https://edwardscampus.ku.edu/overview...
