Queens park, Longton in Stoke on Trent opened in 1888, designed by John Garrett and funded by The Duke of Sutherland to commemorate the golden jubilee of Queen Victoria it spreads over around 45 acres, there are three known sightings in this park of what appear to be spirits, trapped in the park seemingly unable to leave. By the clock tower at the start and end of the walk, there has been a gentleman wearing smart formal clothing and a top hat, who has at times seemed angry in his demeanour, could this be either the Duke or John? Also, a young boy has been seen in an area of the park where a railway serving Florence colliery used to run, possibly a young worker who had a tragic accident or a curious boy playing too close to the lines? Last but by no means least, there's the aptly named Lady of the Lake, who has been seen on the island at the centre of the lake, accompanied by a hazy mist across the lake, wearing an old style dress and brimmed hat, she disappears a few seconds after being seen, did she fall from a boat on the lake and sadly drown, or maybe she managed to get onto the island and could not make it back to land?
