He had a string of hits including Tired of Being Alone, Let's Stay Together, Can't Get Next to You and I'm Still in Love With You. When he side-tracked soul at the end of the seventies and, after a fall from the stage, definitely chose for religion, many of us feared that it wouldn't do any good to his music. He had his scorching come-back on the Blue Note label with I Can't Stop. Recently he released Everything's OK, a new album full of originals, except Joe Cocker's You Are So Beautiful.
