Acquario di Genova

E' stato inaugurato nel 1992 in occasione delle Colombiadi, ossia della Expo celebrativa del cinquecentesimo anniversario della scoperta europea dell'America. La progettazione della struttura e dell'area limitrofa è dell'architetto Renzo Piano, l'allestimento degli interni è stato curato dall'architetto Peter Chermayeff. Il percorso di 2 ore e 30 minuti comprende 39 vasche cui si aggiungono le 4 a cielo aperto del Padiglione Cetacei inaugurato nell'estate del 2013. La superficie totale della struttura è di 27 000 metri quadrati. Le vasche ospitano circa 15 000 animali di 400 specie diverse tra pesci, mammiferi marini, uccelli, rettili, anfibi, invertebrati in ambienti che riproducono quelli originari delle singole specie con evidenti finalità didattiche. The design of the structure and the surrounding area is by the architect Renzo Piano, the interior was designed by the architect Peter Chermayeff. The 2-hour and 30-minute itinerary includes 39 pools plus the 4 open-air pools of the Cetacean Pavilion inaugurated in the summer of 2013. The total area of the structure is 27,000 square meters. The tanks host about 15,000 animals of 400 different species including fish, marine mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates in environments that reproduce those native to the individual species with obvious educational purposes.
