Package Custom Linux Vagrant Boxes on Hyper-V | Open Source Tools

In this video, we explore how you can use the open source HashiCorp Vagrant CLI tool to create custom Linux images for Hyper-V! We'll install a vanilla Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS operating system, then customize it by installing a few software packages and altering configuration files. After customization, we'll package up the operating system as a Vagrant "box" archive, test it out locally, and finally upload it to Vagrant Cloud. Vagrant Cloud allows you to share your custom Vagrant boxes with the global developer community! Vagrant is a cross-platform, open source CLI tool that helps you to provision and manage virtual machine (VM) development environments. You can also use Vagrant to create custom operating system images and rapidly deploy pre-configured VM images, reducing the time it takes to get systems up and running. ➡️ https://vagrantup.com 00:00 Intro to Custom Vagrant Linux Boxes 09:46 Jump Into the Desktop 13:27 Create Hyper-V Virtual Machine for Vagrant Linux Box 27:29 Packaging Linux Virtual Machine as Vagrant Box 35:04 Test Local Import of Custom Vagrant Box Archive 46:46 Share Custom Vagrant Linux Box on Vagrant Cloud Registry ➡️ https://trevorsullivan.net ➡️ https://github.com/pcgeek86 ➡️   / pcgeek86   ➡️    / trevorsullivan   All trademarks, logos and brand names are the property of their respective owners.
