Naturally, the family used that power to become royalty and rule their kingdom. When Ego became queen, she was a terrible ruler. She was selfish, very paranoid, and loved to overuse her controlling people power. But her power isn’t perfect, and sometimes the people affected can override her commands. That’s where her servants come in. They are loyal to Ego on their own merits, so they’ll do what she says without magical interference, and they’ll happily execute anyone who could potentially harm her in any way. (This leads to the execution of that one person.) One day the ruler of the faraway Kingdom of Red wanted to make an alliance with Ego’s kingdom. She and Ego spend some time together and soon, Ego starts crushing on her. The red princess was more interested in someone else, though. A person (not a boy or girl, just a person) from the green kingdom. That obviously upset Ego. She in her paranoia decided it would be only acceptable to kill the Red Princess’s potential love interest to ensure they never started dating. However, Queen Ego had no way of identifying the green person and out of paranoia, ordered the destruction of the whole kingdom to ensure they never made it out alive. And they didn’t. However, unbeknownst to Ego, death works strangely in this universe. When killed, a person is sent to a different realm—the land of the dead. From there, two things could happen. They could just disappear, never to be thought of again, or they could be brought back to the land of the living by someone on the surface. This is what happened to I.T., the green duchess and Ego’s twin sister. A while after being killed, the Red Princess, enraged by Ego killing her lover, and a blue swordsman, upset simply by Ego’s terrible ruling, brought I.T. back to life so they could end the Queen’s rule. I.T. is a member of the royal family and therefore can also control people. She also knows how to bring people back to life and actually has an easy time doing so. So she brings people back in order to add to their army. Her controlling people power is equal to Ego’s, and that means it’s up to the people affected to choose whose orders to follow. Of course they chose to follow I.T., as they too obviously hated the queen. And the blue swordsman (god, I need to come up with names for these people), he could levitate people and easily took care of Ego’s servants. Ego was outmatched so she didn’t even bother to put up a fight, as she wouldn’t win anyway. In the end, Ego was executed, but that’s not where it ends. If you made it this far, you know Ego is in the land of the dead somewhere. But before you find out what happens to her, you’ll see I.T.’s side of the story in “Kill the Queen”—my next video.
