This performance took place during Singing Storytellers at Cape Breton University in 2014. Singing Storytellers is a multi-faceted public outreach program, involving a symposium in conjunction with Celtic Colours International Festival 2014 – with community events, learning opportunities, workshops, film screenings, exhibitions, the creation of new performance works and the presentation of an off-Broadway production that has toured the world, and scholarly presentations – in addition to the creation of digital media for educational and research purposes, and publications. This project, which brings together a multidisciplinary team of scholars and artist-pracitioners, is lead by Canada Research Chair in Communities and Cultures, Dr. Marcia Ostashewski (Cape Breton University), is facilitated through the involvement of several community, industry, government and institutional partners and sponsors.
