Can’t wait for Jesus to come back to rescue you and set the world straight? This book will help you understand that Jesus equipped you with the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead to be His hands, feet, and epistles (written on human hearts) to the nations. Covenant of Peace is an interactive journey guided by the Holy Spirit into truth and grace. It began for me decades ago when I began to ask questions about dissimilar convictions and beliefs. The pressures to conform and to agree ultimately led me on a goal to research competing beliefs. I was baptized into the Holy Spirit and have experienced all the gifts, but many expressions of faith and practices because of Pentecostalism have left me thinking, “Sounds good, but something isn’t right.” I thought that having the Holy Spirit would lead me into all truth, but I found great pleasure when I humbled myself to study church history and the formation of doctrines. I wanted a cohesive understanding of the whole Bible, to have a consistent understanding of God as love throughout the various covenants. And then it clicked—understanding the New Covenant, an everlasting Covenant, a Covenant of Peace, especially with respect to identity in Christ and championing the good news of salvation. For that matter, trying to understand the contemporary purposes and calling of the church to bring healing to hearts and the nations. I could have titled the book The New Covenant, but I felt that the Covenant of Peace is more personal and relational with God through Jesus, whose “punishment that brought our peace.” While writing the book, I realized that one of God’s main goals was to restore the holy relationship He had with Adam and Eve before the fall. The shed blood of Jesus Christ has taken away the dividing wall—it has made us holy. It causes us to enter the New Jerusalem during our lifetime on earth. This call to intimacy with Christ is not reserved for a time in the future. It is for now. It is why I added the subtitle: A Return to Holiness. Some questions I hope will be answered for you include: 1. Do you understand the permanent nature of the New and Everlasting Covenant, a Covenant of Peace?” 2. Do you understand why the New Covenant is much more powerful than the previous ones? 3. Can you distinguish between “the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death?” 4. What does the future behold? I hope that either way, you will be inspired to dig deeper into knowing God the Father through the Son while the Holy Spirit brings affirmation, but even more so, answers to many questions you were afraid to ask. Almost two years ago, the Lord spoke to my heart, “You don’t need to prove yourself to anyone.” The essence of that message is peace with God and freedom from condemnation of the world, or the church. “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
