However, there was one relatively unknown artifact that even the Sith themselves feared. Today we will discuss the truly terrifying dark staff, one of, if not the most powerful Sith artifact ever created. The Sith who created it immediately regretted this decision and tried to destroy it, resulting in them becoming the dark staff's first victim. Darth Rivan described it as an emptiness, a slice of the universe where there is no light and no heat, but also no cold and no dark. Light moves around it but does not come into its grasp. It doesn't want the light. It wants the Force. This slice of pure emptiness was not just a mere tool. It had various nefarious goals and motivations of its own, making it highly unpredictable and therefore extremely dangerous to the wielder. In fact, even the Sith Emperor Vitiate deemed that it was too dangerous to use, locking it away for hundreds of years. Its power was on par with some of the most powerful entities in Star Wars such as Ableloth and the whills. Despite the dangers it posed, the sheer power it contained meant that it was still highly sought after by various Sith and dark siders. The darkstaff was not a force imbued object. In fact, it had more in common with a black hole, sucking in and absorbing the force essence of individuals and artifacts into itself. The power of the darksraff varied depending upon how much force energy it had consumed but if it had absorbed enough, its power was truly god-like. The dark staff was able to create hyperspace wormholes at a massive scale, allowing it to teleport through time and space. If it consumed enough dark side energy, it could transport an entire star system hundreds of years into the future and hundreds of light-years away from its original location. It's destructive capabilities were truly Disturbing, so dark in fact that it reminds me more of the Chaos god's from Warhammer 40k than anything from Star Wars. When it was transported to the world of Oblis, it called upon a shadow creature that fed upon the emotions of the natives. Using its mind controlling powers, the darkstaff tricked the natives into using it as a weapon against the shadow creature. When it was activated, the entire planet was instantly vaporized. However, the poor natives weren't just allowed to die. The darkstaff transformed them into shadow lurkers, ghost like beings that were forced to absorb the life force of other sentient beings on its behalf. It's mind control Abilities were also extremely disturbing. Not only could it directly take over the mind of an individual to communicate with the outside world, it could also transform animals and sentient beings into Sith Spawn mutants that were immune to energy weapons and could use the dark side. On one occasion, the staff turned a group of reptiles into sith spawn, allowing them to shoot acid and force lightning from their mouths. The Dark Staff was also known to use this ability on the dead, allowing it to create an army of undead zombies. Wielders of the staff would gain access to all of these unnatural abilities as well as other unnatural powers. For example, the darkstaff could link the wielders to the minds of their troops, allowing for coordinated and extremely organised attacks.
