Brigadier Amul Asthana had led 1/11 Gorkha Rifles in Kargil battle as second-in-command. One of his teams was tasked to clear enemy positions in order to prevent his battalion from getting exposed in the daylight. The battlefield was Khalubar. He astutely led his battalion. In this story he narrates the valiant acts of Lt. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Param Vir Chakra and other soldiers, whose sheer courage and determination finally led to the recapture of Khalubar and other points.
