Dehradun- A 200 year old House in the City It’s been over two weeks since I have been living here in Mussoorie. Today I am visiting the capital of the state, Dehradun. A city that has seen an enormous growth and development in last 10 years. A city known for it’s scenic beauty and perfect weather. Kathaith sir (a friend) is taking us to a 200 year old house located at a distance of about 6 kilometres form the city of Dehradun. This house is situated in Sella Village, a small village surrounded by hills on all sides. The place has lillterally everything that any hill station has to offer, the hill, the river, greenery, pleasant weather and also a vintage hilly village house. So this is a single house with old architecture, left here in the valley. It was built by a freedom fighter for him and his family. Also, nearby there’s a place called Kharakhet, where a few freedom fighter made salt to break the salt law. This was done at the same time when Gandhi ji marched to dandi to make salt with hundreds of his followers. Also, today we will visit a popular Shiri Guru Ram Rai ji gurudwara.
