Big Steam working hard uphill and blasted granite rock formations = spirit of Donner Pass railroading! Red faced and out of breath after battling the Crazy Lady of Troy (she called the cops on us) and hiking up the steep hill from the Troy Rd locked gate, I needed more time to set up my gear but this grab is what ya got! Perhaps a dozen railfans made the uphill trek to Troy and at least one CHP drone flew up from I-80 to document the UP 4014 working hard on the mountain! Can’t wait to come back here, dodge the Crazy Lady of Troy and camp out atop Troy again like I did in my younger years…
