All you need is the Tank stem, bottom gasket and nut. Applying food grade sealant to gasket prior to pushing stem through underside of cap is optional. Once stem is through cap, just thread the nut on the stem snug, plus 1/4 turn. Step 3- Install Washer drain valve. If using Scepter brand cap, youll need to bore out the spout I.D. with 3/4" Wood/Metal drill bit. This is not necessary on off brand cap. Place valve up against spout as level as possible and hand thread into spout. The plastic is soft, but might take a bit of effort. Using a wrench as leverage can make this a bit easier. You can either thread in completely, or just before threading completely you can add a bead of sealant at the base of the valve to seal against the spout and then tighten completely. Apply sealant to plastic fastener nut and thread on to drain valve snug, plug 1/4 turn. Step 4- 1/2" PVC tubing connection. Apply Teflon tape or sealant to drain valve threads and thread on 1/2"x1/2" socket x threaded adapter snug, plus 1/4 turn. Step 5- 1/2" PVC dip tube. Determine your configuration for making a 17" dip tube. Couplings are optional if breaking down. Using sealant to affix is optional as well. Step 6- Water can accessory attachments. Attached your choice length of hose, quick connect fittings, nozzle, hand air pump, and gear tie.
