So, I had a port line installed in my chest to help with all the iv sticks that go along with fighting cancer. The port placement seems a little scary in your head because it’s hard to wrap your mind around what is happening and what will be, but it’s actually a super easy procedure and make ms like after a lot easier. This is a little story of my first time using my port after placement. It includes some tips and tricks and I’ll be making another video soon that I will label “Part 2” for more information on the placement and healing. I had my port installed to help treat my Cholangiocarcinoma, but it is used for most iv chemo treatments. It is always the patients choice, but after having used it just once, I personally suggest it. I’m not a doctor and everyone’s situation is different. I have become a hard needle stick from losing muscle mass due to the cancer though and this has helped a lot.
