K-Rail Project Stirs Row | Kerala CM Meets PM Modi; UDF Protests Outside Parliament

Amidst statewide protests over a highspeed rail corridor project named K-rail or the Silverline project, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Thursday. There has been a large-scale stir against the project which aims to reduce the travel time between Kasaragod and the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. The state witnessed two protests on Thursday: one by the MPs of the United Democratic Front who protested near the parliament, calling the project unscientific. The MPs also alleged that they were manhandled by the Delhi Police. On the other hand, residents in Kerala, fearing land acquisition, also protested in Thiruvananthapuram. watch this to know more!
