This dance fiesta is a soulful composition honoring the rich cultural heritage of our God's own Country -'Kerala'. This 'Kerala Carnival' showcases Kathakali , Tiruvathira , Mohiniyattam , Nadodi Nrittam , topped off with Panchavadyam at the end. Kathakali is a modestly classical 'story-play' indigenous to ancient Kerala traditions and scriptures . In Kathakali ,florid movements and a vocabulary of rigid hand gestures are embellished by elaborate costumes and colorful face paints. Tiruvathira kali is a popular Kerala folk dance form performed during Hindu festivals. A large group of female dancers glide around the dance floor gracefully with fluid legwork and delicate hand gestures. Mohiniyattam , a feminine dance form of Kerala is renowned for its grace , simple looking footwork and rotating rhythmic movements. Nadodi Nrittam, is a primitive dance of Kerala reflecting the diverse cultures and varied temperaments of the local tribes . This tribal rhapsody blends nomadic steps with exaggerated expressions to celebrate their various ceremonies. Panchavadyam is a type of traditional Kerala orchestra that is performed during festive occasions . In this creative rendition , this classic percussion ensemble brings together the synergy of these distinctly different dance forms as it draws to a close.
