SIAC Symposium 2022: Welcome Address by Mr Davinder Singh, SC

SIAC held the inaugural SIAC Symposium on Monday, 29 August 2022 at Shangri-La Tower Ballroom, in conjunction with the Singapore Convention Week. Co-developed in discussion with the YSIAC, and conceived to be a blend between SIAC’s Congress and the YSIAC Conference, the SIAC Symposium 2022 brought together members of the judiciary, distinguished members of the SIAC Board and SIAC Court of Arbitration, other eminent members and experts from the international arbitration community to discuss the impact of global developments on the next lap of international arbitration, as well as the future of ethics in an increasingly globalised and diverse international arbitration landscape. Through the course of the conference, our distinguished speakers also shared their experiences on building an international arbitration practice over the ages, engaged in a lively discussion on ideas for reform for the upcoming seventh edition of the SIAC Arbitration Rules, as well as the impact of developments in Web 3.0, the Metaverse, Cryptocurrency and NFT Disputes on international arbitration.
