He was born on March 30, 1986, in Camas, Spain. Ramos began his football career as a youth player at Sevilla FC before making his professional debut with the team in 2004. He quickly established himself as a talented and versatile defender, capable of playing both as a center-back and a right-back. In 2005, he was signed by Real Madrid, where he spent the majority of his career. During his time at Real Madrid, Ramos won numerous titles, including five La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League titles, and two Copa del Rey trophies. He was also a key member of the Spanish national team, helping them win the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2008 and 2012 UEFA European Championships. Ramos was known for his strong defensive skills, as well as his ability to score crucial goals, particularly in important matches. He was also known for his leadership on and off the pitch and was widely respected by his teammates and opponents alike. In June 2021, after 16 seasons with Real Madrid, Ramos left the club as a free agent and signed with Paris Saint-Germain. However, in February 2022, he announced his retirement from professional football due to ongoing injury issues.
